Sunday Morning 7th September 2014

These are the generations of the heavens and the earth when they were created, in the day that the Lord God made the earth and the heavens … the Lord God formed the man of dust from the ground and breathed into his nostrils the breath of life, and the man became a living creature. And the Lord God planted a garden in Eden, in the east, and there he put the man whom he had formed. 9 And out of the ground the Lord God made to spring up every tree that is pleasant to the sight and good for food. … The Lord God took the man and put him in the garden of Eden to work it and keep it. Genesis 2

When I look at your heavens, the work of your fingers, … what is man that you are mindful of him? Psalm 8

And he said to the man with the withered hand, “Come here” … and He said to the man, “Stretch out your hand.” He stretched it out, and his hand was restored. Mark 3

This Morning we looked at the creation of man and how we can be thought of as image-bearers of God and what that means to us today. We are told that Jesus went about doing good & healing the sick, whereas his contemporaries were often judgemental. Who do we resemble? Perhaps we should focus on looking after each other and our wonderful planet.
