Today we focussed on the intimate presence of God. Not a presence we have to summon but one that is always with us calling us to live a life before God, a presence that is personal, present in Jesus. From the intimacy of prayer we have the power we need for the day.
We looked at Psalm 131:

O Lord, my heart is not lifted up;
my eyes are not raised too high;
I do not occupy myself with things
too great and too marvellous for me.
2 But I have calmed and quietened my soul,
like a weaned child with its mother;
like a weaned child is my soul within me.
3 O Israel, hope in the Lord
from this time forth and for evermore.
From this we looked at the end of Mark Chapter 3: 18- 21 where we hear Jesus call himself a bridegroom whose presence brings such joy, his disciples need not fast. Jesus also warns through pictures that the newness of the people he is gathering to him is not a reform, a patch for an old garment or a revival but something new, new wine that will burst the old wineskins.
